Summer Internship with Innovating Education in Reproductive Health

Innovating Education in Reproductive Health (www.innovating-education.org) seeks a summer intern to help develop our upcoming course on Coursera.org.  Innovating Education in Reproductive
Health is a program of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at UCSF and launched last year as a way to bring together interdisciplinary educators, researchers, and advocates around abortion, family planning, and other reproductive health topics
to enhance teaching in this field.

We will teach a course entitled: Abortion: Quality care and public health implications in September on Coursera (a massive, open, online course or ‘MOOC’ platform).  We seek a summer intern to support the course and develop assessments
for learners.  The intern will be responsible for:

Developing multiple choice quizzes and short-answer questions to evaluate learner performance in the course

·
Piloting and setting standards for the peer-graded assessments

·
Developing the evaluation schema for the course as a whole and securing IRB approval to analyze data collected through the course

·
Coordinating with the UCSF Dean’s office on course details

·
Promoting the course to groups interested in family planning education

·
Carrying out other tasks related to preparing the course for launch in September

Candidates should have:

·
BA and two or more years of experience in a related field

·
Excellent organizational skills

·
Excellent written and oral communication skills

·
Great attention to detail

·
The ability to work independently

·
Experience or interest in working in the reproductive health field, including with abortion and family planning, is preferred

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
