is a 2013 documentary film by Amit Virmani. The film tells the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a school dropout who realized that the majority of women in India couldn’t afford sanitary
pads and decided to do something about it. With limited resources at his disposal, he adopted extreme methods to conduct his research. Today, he is recognized as a social entrepreneur and inventor whose machines enable rural women to manufacture low-cost
sanitary pads for their communities.
With special guest: FSPH alumnus,
Deborah Dauda, MPH ’12. Ms. Dauda will lead discussion and Q&A and share her work focusing on menstrual health and hygiene in Nigeria.
