DRH is one of nine divisions within CDC’s NCCDPHP. DRH is the focal point for issues related to women’s and men’s reproductive health. The Division’s activities and programs provide support to
organizations and institutions, as well as providers and consumers, across the U.S. and around the world.
The Field Support Branch mission is to increase public health agencies’ scientific and technical capacity nationally and globally. FSB works with partners to strengthen and apply the
evidence base for public health action to improve the health and well-being of women, children, and families. FSB activities are carried out in close collaboration with multiple partners, including other CDC CIOs, other Federal Agencies, state health departments,

Duties of the Position:
The Branch Chief’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate and direct FSB’s scientific and technical assistance projects, surveillance, and evaluation activities that support
the division’s goals and objectives. The position will report to the Division Director. As a senior member of the Division of Reproductive Health’s management team, the Branch Chief will play a leadership role in the development of Division program policy
and objectives, short and long-term goals, program strategies, and operating policies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Supervise the Branch’s Deputy Branch Chief, team leaders and other professional and support staff.
● Work with team leaders to direct, coordinate, or oversee programmatic activities.
● Make decisions on work problems presented by team leaders, other personnel, or by contractors.
● Evaluate the activities of the branch to determine which program areas are most productive, which are
worthy of support in reaching goals, and which should be emphasized or curtailed.
25% travel required, both domestic and international.
Candidate must have experience in managing multiple large, complex projects and contracts, and the ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required to effectively communicate
with partners, colleagues, and DRH leadership.
