California Family Health Council (CFHC) is a statewide organization that champions and promotes quality sexual and reproductive health care for all. CFHC achieves their mission through an umbrella of programs
and services including advanced clinical research, provider training, clinic support initiatives, advocacy and consumer awareness.
CFHC funds family planning and reproductive health services for low-income and uninsured clients through 66 health care organizations collectively, operating nearly 350 health centers serving more than one million
women, men and teens annually in 38 of California’s 58 counties. As the administrator of California’s leading Title X (ten) federal family planning program – the nation’s largest Title X system — CFHC’s provider network includes a broad spectrum of service
organizations, including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), city and county health departments, stand-alone family planning health centers, school-based clinics and community health centers.
We are currently seeking:
STD Prevention Program Intern
This internship will provide an opportunity to spearhead the content creation of a short STD prevention-related video for California clinicians and medical staff. The video will focus
on the important public health topic of the Confidential Morbidity Report (CMR), a form used to report STDs (including chlamydia and gonorrhea) to local public health departments. Primary responsibilities include researching and writing video script, coordinating
experts in the field and overseeing the production of the videos in collaboration with CFHC’s Learning Exchange.
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a Master of Public Health (MPH) program or be a recent graduate. The opportunity requires a basic understanding of epidemiology and public health principles and an interest
in the sexual and reproductive health field. Demonstrated experience leading health promotion activities and outstanding organizational and writing skills are needed.
