Job Announcement for UCSF position: Analyst III – Program Advisor SHSI Unit in Richmond, CA

The STD Control Branch is recruiting to fill an Analyst III – Program Advisor position.   The STD/HIV Service Integration Program Advisor position provides training and technical assistance to local health jurisdictions
(LHJs) and community agencies to build their capacity in planning, implementing, and evaluating STD/HIV prevention and disease intervention activities, such as HIV partner services, HIV linkage to care, STD screening in HIV care settings, and HIV screening
in STD care settings. The position provides oversight and coordination for STD-HIV service integration-related project coordination activities and program evaluation efforts, ensuring timely progress toward objectives. The position collaborates closely with
CDPH Office of AIDS (OA) programmatic partners and serves as an integral member of the OA-funded HIV Partner Services Training Team. The position provides responsive, high quality services to LHJs, representatives of outside agencies, and members of the public
by providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• BA/BS with a major in a related field and four years of experience in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current CA driver’s license
• At least one year of experience in project coordination or management
• Experience with implementation of STD or HIV partner services, HIV prevention or care
• Experience as a trainer and/or health educator for group settings
• Thorough knowledge of the health promotion and education field
• Thorough knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs
• Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion
• Ability to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs
• Effective analytical skills and ability to reason logically and use interpretive thinking to find solutions
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
• Ability to know when to seek counsel on issues outside one’s own abilities and knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public health, health education, or related
• In depth knowledge of HIV and STD prevention and control strategies
• Knowledge of principles and techniques for training and technical assistance
• Experience working for a public health program, funded prevention agency, or community based organization
• Experience negotiating collaboration building efforts with diverse partner groups
• Experience in program evaluation efforts, including data collection design, implementation and analysis
