Program Planning and Evaluation Coordinator

 

At Sentient Research (www.sentientresearch.net), we specialize in innovative research, program planning, evaluation, and communications. Since 2007, we’ve worked with non-profit organizations and government agencies
across the country and internationally on exceptional projects in health, education, and public policy. We’re currently creating new programs in the US and Mexico using entertainment education for teen pregnancy prevention, STD prevention, and retention in
care for people with HIV; using social media to promote hepatitis C testing to seniors; and evaluating a number of programs in nutrition, HIV, and youth reproductive health. We work in a fast paced, results-driven environment and actively seek out challenging
projects. We’re committed to doing work that makes a positive impact on people’s lives and we contribute to public health science by publishing articles about our work in academic journals and presenting at national conferences.

 

Program Planning and Evaluation Coordinator

The Program Planning and Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for conducting and managing multiple projects for clients, as well as assisting senior staff on various projects as needed. One major project will include helping to create
a web-based reproductive health program for high-risk youth. 

 

This is contract position (about 35-40 hours per week), but could lead to a full-time staff position after approximately 6 months. Most work duties will take place at various client locations in and around Los
Angeles.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

o  
Manage projects (e.g. research studies, program planning, implementation, and evaluation) for multiple clients

o  
Support senior staff on projects as needed

o  
Represent Sentient Research at client meetings and on conference calls

o  
Collect and enter data

o  
Interpret qualitative and quantitative data analysis

o  
Write reports

o  
Prepare and deliver presentations

o  
Conduct focus groups and qualitative interviews

o  
Conduct literature reviews

o  
Some travel may be required

 

Required Qualifications

o  
Education: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant work experience OR; Masters/PhD (in public health, sociology, communications, or relevant behavioral health field) and 2 years relevant work experience

o  
Ability to work independently with minimal direction

o  
Excellent project management skills (including ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines)

o  
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide variety of clients and target populations (e.g. youth, LGBTQ persons)

o  
Excellent attention to detail

o  
Demonstrated superior writing and editing skills are required

o  
Ability to understand and interpret statistical output

o  
Minimum 2 years professional experience in program planning, implementation, evaluation, and/or conducting qualitative or quantitative research

o  
Highly proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

 

Desired Qualifications

o  
Grant writing

o  
Experience working in reproductive health, STDs, or HIV

o  
Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis

o  
Proficiency in SPSS or SAS

o  
Focus group moderation

o  
Fluent in Spanish

 

Salary: commensurate with experience
