Graduate student intern needed for LARC project

I’m looking for a graduate student volunteer to help with an exciting project.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) Division of Medical & Dental Affairs seeks a graduate student volunteer to assist with the creation of a Postpartum Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Toolkit for distribution
to hospitals in the County. The LARC Toolkit will compile existing resources on postpartum LARC to guide providers and will develop new areas of content specific to Los Angeles County. The Toolkit will be based upon the South Carolina postpartum LARC Toolkit
available at
http://www.choosewellsc.org/SC_Postpartum_LARC_Toolkit.pdf
.

The creation of this Toolkit is part of DPH’s work on the Center for Disease Control’s 6-18 initiative, focusing on unintended pregnancy prevention through partnerships with payers, purchasers, and providers of health care (https://www.cdc.gov/sixeighteen/).

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with LARC methods, interest in health policy and insurance coverage issues, and strong written and oral communication skills. Work hours are flexible; we would like to complete the Toolkit by December
2017.

This work can serve as an internship or independent study project. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Susie Baldwin at
sbaldwin@ph.lacounty.gov with a resume and cover letter explaining your interest in the project.

Thanks,

Susie
