Technical Associate/Manager, Gender & Inclusion 

Project Summary: 

MSI is seeking an experienced gender+ (gender equality and social inclusion) specialist to help expand its Gender+ Practice. Through its services, MSI Gender+ assists global development agencies and their partners to achieve gender and socially inclusive development results that reduce gender+ gaps and empower women, girls and disadvantaged groups. We conduct gender+ analyses, facilitate gender+ integration in the program cycle, lead and manage gender+ evaluation and support gender+ capacity development with government, civil society and the private sector. We work with clients across regions, countries and sectors to tailor services to their program’s institutional and cultural contexts and needs. MSI implements gender-integrated projects in key sectors such as democracy rights and governance or conflict, stability and countering violent extremism. We engage local gender+ experts and strengthen the gender+ capacity of local individuals, institutions and systems.

Position Summary:

The Gender+ Specialist will provide technical support in gender+ to MSI clients and projects globally and guide gender+ integration in proposal development and external communications.

Responsibilities:

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Provide technical support to gender+ programming within MSI.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Assist with proposal development and external communication around gender+ topics.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Create analysis and assessment of gender+ programming.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Provide assistance in further developing the gender+ practice within MSI.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Manage task orders from clients on specific projects.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Other responsibilities include but are not limited to contributing to innovation and thought leadership through conference presentations, technical tools, and reports.

Qualifications:

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the areas of Gender+.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Direct experience in a field project implementation setting, including results based programing.  

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Experience supporting Gender+ analysis and assessments, integration of gender+ in program design and planning, monitoring and evaluation, collaborative learning and adaptive management, training, coaching and mentoring, writing and communications, and organizational development.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Proposal development and writing for USAID and other international donors.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Experience providing Gender+ technical assistance with field projects.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Preferred geographic experience in Africa, South, Southeast and Central Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe, LAC.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Preferred sector experience in Economic growth; Engineering and Infrastructure; Agriculture and food security; Education; Democracy, rights and governance; Conflict, stability and countering violent extremism; or Climate Change.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Preferred candidates will have relevant experience with USAID, World Bank, UN, and other bilateral donor institutions.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Experience with civil society and the private sector desired. 

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Master’s Degree in Gender and Development or similar applied social, natural, or engineering science degree with concentration in gender studies is preferred.

< ![if !supportLists]>· < ![endif]>Fluency in French, Arabic or other languages desired.
