UCLA Blum Center Summer Scholars Field Study Program – Accepting Applications

Dear Members of the Reproductive Health Interest Group and other interested graduate students,

The UCLA Blum Center on Poverty and Health in Latin America is now accepting applications for the Graduate Summer Scholars Program for summer 2014! We hope that you will share this information with any interested students.

Summer Scholars examine the factors that influence poverty and other social determinants of health in Latin America. Through this program, graduate students live in Latin America for 8 weeks or longer and work with universities, international institutions or community organizations involved in activities focused on improving health and social conditions of local populations. Each student will be mentored both by a UCLA faculty member and a representative from the sponsoring host organization in Latin America.

The UCLA Blum Center is seeking highly qualified, motivated and talented graduate students interested in developing a deeper understanding of the critical social and health issues most pressing to Latin American countries. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply, so long as their experiences and interests lie within the realms of health and poverty issues in Latin America.

Attached you will find the Summer Scholars Program summer 2014 announcement, which has more information and guidelines for the application process. We ask that you please share our announcement with any interested graduate students that you know, as well as with your networks.
