Paid summer internship in Sacramento working on adolescent SRH

The Epidemiology, Assessment and Program Development Branch of the Maternal Child and Adolescent Health Division
at the California Department of Public Health is looking for a summer intern to join our Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Epidemiology Team.  Under supervision of a Research Scientist Supervisor, the intern will work closely with lead staff
on ASRH activities, including development of a county-level surveillance product on adolescent health.  

 MCAH approaches adolescent health, including sexual health, from a strengths-based perspective.  We are looking
for a like-minded individual with prior research education or experience to contribute to our monitoring, evaluation and surveillance efforts.  

 Person must be able to work collaboratively in diverse groups, be detail-oriented, and possess a strong work
ethic, outstanding communication skills, and good project management skills; excellent computer skills, including experience using SAS or SPSS, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint are essential. 

 Ideal candidate would be a MPH student with a concentration in Epidemiology.    Advanced students in psychology,
sociology, and demography will also be considered.  Graduate students must carry a minimum of 6 semester/4 quarter units per academic term. All students must maintain a 2.0 GPA per academic term.  Compensation: $10.38 – $16.19/hour, based on the number of
academic units earned to date.
