The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences (OB/GYN & RS), SFGH Division is seeking a Quality Improvement (QI) Project Manager for its STD
program. Please note: this position is located in Fresno.


The QI Project Manager is assigned to the Health Promotion and Healthcare Quality Improvement (HPHQI) Section of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH),
Sexually Transmitted Diseases Control Branch (STDCB). Under the direction of the HPHQI Section Chief, the QI Project Manager will coordinate and implement healthcare QI efforts and the evaluation of these efforts within Fresno County. Programmatic duties,
targeted to priority healthcare provider networks, will include public health detailing visits to offer education on best practices related to sexual and reproductive healthcare services; QI project coordination and management support; and clinical quality
improvement coaching/technical assistance (TA). Evaluation activities will include conducting key informant interviews, facilitating focus groups, administering surveys, and abstracting patient medical records. Additionally, this position will work with oversight
from California Family Health Council (CFHC) partners to support the expansion of accessible and quality sexual and reproductive health services for at-risk populations in the Central Valley through broad-based provider and community outreach, education, technical
assistance and scale-up of training opportunities and health promotion activities.


The QI Project Manager will play a supportive role in statewide public health sexually transmitted diseases (STD) control efforts by helping to ensure that sexual
and reproductive healthcare services for women and youth in Fresno County and the surrounding Central Valley are available in diverse clinic settings and represent best practices.


Required Qualifications

•        BA/BS degree with a major in Public Health, Nursing or related field and three years of experience in administrative analysis
or operations research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

•        One year of experience in project coordination, or development and management of public health programs

•        At least six months of experience in clinical quality assurance and/or quality improvement, either as a participant or project

•        At least six months of full-time experience working within a health clinic, hospital, or other clinical setting

•        Proficiency using Microsoft Office 2010, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

•        Knowledge of modern office methods, equipment, and procedures

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

•        Ability to reason and problem-solve analytically, logically, and creatively

•        Ability to juggle multiple priorities, effectively meet deliverables for multiple projects, and work well under pressure

•        Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

•        Experience exercising outstanding initiative, work ethic, and self-motivation

•        Excellent organizational and time-management skills

•        Willingness to maintain excellent attendance

•        Available for frequent travel around the Fresno and Central Valley area, with occasional travel to other parts of the state
