Funding opportunity with the OCs OTC working group

Ibis Reproductive Health and the Oral Contraceptives (OCs) Over-the-Counter (OTC) Working Group are excited to announce an opportunity for funding to support the effort to make an
over-the-counter oral contraceptive a reality in the US. Over the past few months, the OCs OTC Working Group steering committee and subcommittees have been working to identify the key priority areas for future work in this movement as we anticipate a future
application for an OTC progestin-only pill (POP) from ourpartner, HRA Pharma. We are particularly enthused to see proposals in the following areas, but also encourage other bold ideas that you may have:

Access for communities of color and low-income communities
Access for young people
Affordability and insurance strategies
State-based policies and organizing
User knowledge and experience with getting OCs from pharmacies or website/apps compared to clinicians’ offices
Prevalence of contraindications to progestin-only pills (POPs)
Modeling and/or other approaches to estimate the impacts of an OTC OC

Stakeholder outreach
Clinician opinions of POPs and OTC POP access, including whether education improves support
Parental opinions of POPs and OTC POP access, including whether education improves support
Dual protection messaging and strategies campaign with youth input

Priority will be given to individuals and/or organizations that have been actively engaged in the working group (e.g., active in a subcommittee, signed onto the
Statement of Purpose, attended a reproductive justice convening, etc.), but all are welcome to apply.

Please see our
