The STD Control Branch is recruiting to fill a Project Policy Analysis Manager 1 position.  This position is located in Richmond, CA and
is under the supervision of the Chief of the STD Control Branch.

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Control Branch Chief, the position serves as a Local Capacity Building (LCB) Section Chief, establishing and maintaining effective consultative and collaborative relationships
with state, local, and non-governmental partners to enhance and evaluate STD/HIV prevention and control activities and support local capacity building. As part of the Branch Executive Management team, the LCB Section Chief plays a senior leadership role in
making strategic contributions to program planning and policy development, setting long-term and short- term program goals and objectives for Program Coordination and Service Integration (PCSI) efforts, with a particular emphasis on fostering the integration
of STD and HIV clinical services and health promotion messaging for gay men and other men who have sex with men (MSM).


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related area and 5 – 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience / training
• Advanced knowledge of organization-specific computer applications. (Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Basic content knowledge in STD/HIV epidemiology and prevention and control strategies
• Strategic planning and/or program planning experience
• Experience providing technical assistance and/or capacity building
• Skill in developing and maintaining collaborations with diverse partner groups
• Grant writing and reporting expertise
• Thorough knowledge of organization processes, protocols, research and procedures
• Ability to know when to seek counsel on issues outside one’s abilities or knowledge
• Extensive analytical / problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with leadership, and lead and direct subordinates
• Supervision and management expertise
• Comprehensive project management skills
• Effective time management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
