Responsibilities: I was responsible for cleaning and analyzing data as well as creating trend figures for the Round III HIV/STI Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance (IBBS III) in Vietnam results report for high risk populations: female sex workers, men who have sex with men, and intravenous drug users.

Greatest Public Health Lesson: I learned that behind every great project or study, there are great minds with true concern for the quality and impact of their contributions and that your ability to collaborate well with others leads to many fruitful opportunities for future work.

Favorite Memory: I have many favorite memories in my short time in Vietnam, but my fondest would have to be sharing lunch with my co-workers halfway through a busy work day in the field. Half of the meal conversation is me asking questions about the food and then getting the “I don’t know, we just eat it!” response before the question reverberates around the room in Vietnamese from person to person until we all learn something new about my favorite topic – food. I am truly grateful for the staff I worked with. It was as if I gained a new family away from home. I surely miss their laughter, jovial banter, and kindness.
