Internship Year:

I had four main tasks in my work on the SASA! Project of Raising Voices. First, I developed interview guides to assist health care providers to discuss the links between violence and HIV with their clients. These guides were short and easy to read while incorporating information important for health care providers. Second, I developed training modules that taught health care providers the purpose of the interview guides and how to use them in their day-to-day work. Third, I developed persuasion sheets aimed at convincing professionals and leaders in communities that these issues are connected and that action must be taken to prevent both. Lastly, I developed advocacy powerpoint presentations intended to educate audiences about the connection between violence against women and HIV and to inform people about what they can do to prevent the dual epidemics.
