Internship Year:

My field studies project at Transitions consisted of working on a health curriculum with several different components including general health modules such as sanitation and nutrition. I also worked on sexual education curriculum modules. The main activities in developing the curricula consisted of comprehensive literature reviews on the different topics and significant research into Cambodian culture, history and belief systems. I revised the content based on the clinical social worker and director’s feedback and checks for appropriateness, and a focus group with the local staff for feedback on the appropriateness and sensitivity of the sexual education portions. Additionally, I developed pretest-posttest questionnaires for the curriculum modules and process evaluation forms for the staff to use when teaching the modules to the target population.
