The main project I worked on was developing an Action and Advocacy Kit for the 16 Days of Activism international campaign. The campaign unites the international human rights and women’s movements in a collective and coordinated sixteen-day effort to prevent violence against women. In order to support local, grassroots organizational efforts in this campaign, I developed a kit based on the regional theme: “How Are You Living Your Faith? Every Religion Calls for Non-violent Relationships!” It included a fact sheet, film discussion guide, press release, community seminar guide, staff strategizing session, interfaith sermons, guide for organizing public events, ribbons, and posters. These Kits were distributed to over 80 organizations in the regional Gender Based Violence Prevention Network, an affiliation of practitioner and organization members seeking to prevent violence against women in over 18 countries in the Horn, East, and Southern Africa.
