Internship Year:

During the first half of my internship, I helped develop a protocol outline for a cohort study. The study purpose was to assess time delay between HIV diagnosis and entry into care and to identify the factors that affect clients’ healthcare seeking behavior. I was involved with conducting literature searches, drafting the study design, and calculating sample size. In the second half of my internship, I focused on analyzing data from a study whose purpose was to determine the stage of HIV infections at diagnosis and identify the possible factors affecting HIV testing. Using STATA, I ran descriptive statistics of the variables, conducted bivariate analysis, built logistic regression models, and summarized my findings in tables.
